Medical Electrodes
Medical electrodes play a crucial role in converting the energy of ionic currents present in the body into electrical currents, which can be amplified, studied, and utilized for accurate diagnoses.
These electrodes encompass a variety of types, including ECG, EKG, EEG, EMG, TENS, EMS, FES, ESU, and AED electrodes, each serving specific medical purposes.
Medical/skin electrodes can be distinctly categorized according to four primary applications:
- Diagnosis: They effectively capture weak ionic currents from the body, proving indispensable in ECG, EKG, EEG, and EMG applications.
- Therapeutic Delivery: Electrodes designed to release currents into the body are essential for TENS, EMS, FES, and AED physiotherapies.
- Return Circuit Functionality: In surgical settings, these electrodes function as critical return or ground circuits, particularly for ESU applications.
- Breathing Monitoring: Specialized electrodes detect the complete breathing cycle (RC), monitoring inhalation and exhalation with precision.
To prevent cross-infection, the vast majority of medical electrodes are manufactured as disposable; however, the increasing demand for home and portable healthcare devices has spurred the development of reusable electrodes designed for single-person use.
Constructed from a variety of conductive materials and available in multiple shapes, medical/skin electrodes are tailored for diverse applications.
We are ready to assist with your specific needs, welcoming OEM/ODM and custom requests for medical electrodes. Your solutions are our priority.
